Aber get a bonus point away from home.

Abergavenny travelled away last weekend to Fleur De Lys and came away with a resounding 32 points to seven bonus point victory.

The Aber side showed several changes once again with Gareth Williams joining Mat Charles and Jack Williams in the front row Will Evans returning to partner Josh van Mael in the boiler house and Dan Beavan, Dan Smith flanking captain Josh Davies in the back row. Ryan Joyce and Matt Sevenoaks were the half backs with Rhod Webster and Jacob Buttler forming a new centre partnership, Dan Dunmore, Will Williams and Dan Hayman were the back three.

The game started badly for Aber when straight from the kick off what looked like a perfect exit out of their 22 turned horribly wrong when the clearance kick was charged down and collected by the home centre to score under the posts to give the home side a 7 nil lead. This however did not deter the Aber side as they went straight back at the home side soon forcing a penalty which was kicked by Dan Hayman. From the restart Abergavenny attacked the Flower line putting the home side under constant pressure and a score looked ominous, from a quickly taken penalty by Ryan Joyce, lock Josh Van Mael fed Dan Smith who crossed for a well taken try converted by Hayman. Abergavenny were now playing with confidence and running the ball at every opportunity with backs and forwards looking at ease with ball in hand and from a ruck in the opposition 22 Matt Sevenoaks fed Will Evans who made good ground before finding Dan Beavan in close support to take the pass and score under the posts with Hayman converting. Dan Hayman kicked a further penalty to give Aber a 7-20 lead but then the home side had a good ten minute period just before half time and only excellent defence prevented them from adding to their score.

The second half was very much the same from Abergavenny as they dominated possession and territory and it was only dogged defence from the home side which prevented the floodgates opening, eventually the pressure told when Will Williams scored a scintillating solo try once again converted by Dan Hayman. The away side now made several changes with forwards Luke Williams, Nathan Thomas, Paul Cornock and Ieuan James entering the fray along with Ryan Williams behind the scrum and Aber took their game up another level. Once again the home side defended resolutely and kept Aber at bay for long periods but eventually their defenders ran out and the ever alert scrum half Joyce crossed to complete the scoring and give Abergavenny a fine 32-7 away victory. This  was one of Abers  best  displays of the season and the lack of rugby in the next few weeks due to the autumn internationals could not have come at a worse time.

The forthcoming Wales games will all be shown live at the club and every one is welcome to come and watch them .
