Abergavenny travelled to Blackwood stars on Saturday and came away with a resounding 101 points to 5 victory. Aber's coaches made a number of changes to the side Jack Williams and Jay Adams join skipper James in the front row. Matt Collins and Josh Van Mael formed a new Second row pairing and Rudi Lewis returned in the back row with Dan Beavan and Josh Davies. Ryan Joyce and Rhod Webster were the half backs, Nathan Byrne returned to partner Dan Smith in the centre with Will Williams, Sam Vaughan and Lloyd Holder making up the back three.

Abergavenny started the game with a bang running the ball at every opportunity and against a very disorganised defence soon got on the score sheet with tries from Sam Vaughan, Rudi Lewis and Josh Davies. Full back Will Williams was next to score and before the end of the game he completed a hat trick. Before half time the result was in no doubt with further tries from Webster, Dan Beavan, Sam Vaughan and Lloyd Holder leaving the score 52-0 at the break.

The second half was much the same with further tries from Dan Beavan, Will Williams and Lloyd Holder and replacement scrum half Owain Jones, who was making his first team league debut, helped his self to two tries. Next week Aber face a much tougher test in their bid for promotion with an away game at Oakdale.

On Friday 27th the Quins are in the final of the Ivor Jones cup against Talywain kick off 7.30 at Pontypool United, a bus will be going from the club 5.30 all support greatly appreciated.
