Abergavenny welcomed Pill Harriers on Saturday in their penultimate home league fixture of the season. 

A strong starting XV took the field looking for their fourteenth win of the season. Up against a powerful Pill Harriers pack of forwards Abergavenny had to front up from the start, strong tackles from Ben Main and Aaron Scrimgeour soon set the tone of the match. From second phase ball Ieuan Evans put Nathan Williams into space who found Ben Main to open the scoring 5 - 0.

Within moments Anthony Squire opened his account for the afternoon scoring under the posts converted by Nathan Williams. Callum Poole and Will Evans worked tirelessly to ware down the Pill pack and Rhob Connick controlled the game from scrum half, quality ball kept coming for the three quarters, James Lewis punched a hole through midfield before giving the scoring pass to Ieuan Evans for his first try, converted by Nathan Williams 19 - 0.

Connor Davies, Ronan Lewis and Matt Charles provided quality possession from scrum time; Alex Howes picked up at number 8 before providing Aaron Scrimgeour with the scoring pass for Abergavenny's fourth try which was converted. Further tries from James Lewis and Anthony Squire in the first half resulted in a remarkable halftime scoreline of Abergavenny 38 Pill 0.

In the second half Dan Beavan, Jordan Curran and Rob Lothian came on to join the forwards while Rhys Jones and Nathan Byrne came into the backs. The same game plan as the first half continued with Abergavenny moving the big pack of Pill forwards around the field. The score was further increased with a second try from Ieuan Evans. As Pill Harriers tired Abergavenny's quick runners came into play, Nathan Williams suddenly found several scoring opportunities and took his chance by running in a hat trick of tries. Rob Lewis took his opportunity to run in Abergavenny's eleventh try before Anthony Squire completed his hat trick to complete the scoring to round off a comprehensive victory by 78 - 7.
